Join us, Nick & Glenn, as we delve into 5 truly outstanding and truly frightening films - all made in the 1970's.  In many people's opinion (including ours), these films are prime examples of the best movies dealing with suspense & terror.

In this episode we look at and discuss the great minds contributing to these five movies, and compare them to some of what has followed since, in the fright film genre.

Varied audio clips are played, including the original "Black Christmas," the original "When a Stranger Calls," and a lost cult classic: "Silent Night, Bloody Night."

We talk about the creative talents behind these films, such as directors Bob Clark & Richard Fleisher - and listen to clips featuring Carole Kane, Olivia Hussey, Mia Farrow & others.

A fun, film fright show from a great decade!

On this Variety Attic podcast, we resurrect three great American ladies of Song who spearheaded their way through show business, and overcame the odds - professionally, physically, and otherwise.

Kay Thompson - Singer & author of "Eloise" children book fame, who was the first female music arranger at MGM, as well as a composer, dancer, choreographer, & Godmother to Liza Minnelli!

Jane Froman - Famous songstress portrayed in the bio pic -"With a Song in my Heart," starring Susan Hayward, who had a successful come back after surviving a horrific plane crash leaving her with a severely injured leg.

Connee Boswell - Legendary singer touted by Ella Fitzgerald as the woman she wanted to sound the most like, who maintained a fabulous solo career after starting out with her two siblings, "The Boswell Sisters," and always performed seated due to childhood polio.

So, join us - Nick & Glenn, as we listen to recordings of these extraordinary talents, and the glorious music they made - as we tell their stories from the 1930's through 1960's.

Join us, Nick & Glenn, as we continue with a third episode in our "Gone Wrong in Cinema" series, this time with Families!  Since the amount of downloads for "Kids" and "Siblings" Gone Wrong in cinema proved to be so popular, we decided this time to take a look at entire families.

From the Midwest with "Ordinary People," and "The Magnificent Amberson's,"  to the South with " The Little Foxes," "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte," & "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," - we span the country with families in film over issues of inheritance and money, unrequited love, jealousy, lies, misunderstandings, suicide, homicide, old age, and even arson!

In addition to these master-works involving legends like Orson Welles, Tennessee Williams, Bette Davis, Olivia de Havilland, Elizabeth Taylor, Robert Redford, and many others - we also take a look at Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece, "Shadow of a Doubt," Eugene O'Neil's epic "Long Day's Journey into Night," and even an ABC Movie of the week starring a young Sally Field.

We rap it all up with our Red Flags List of You know your family's Gone Wrong when...
